Teaching Golf in Rayong, Thailand 2000-2001
How to get the most out of your golf lesson:
To get the most out of your golf lesson a few guidelines should be followed when you decide to improve your game. The golfer first must show up for the lesson with an open mind and be willing to make changes. Second, as a student you should listen to your instructor, he or she probably has a lot of golf knowledge. Third, don't expect miracles, generally there is more than one thing wrong with your swing, change takes time. And finally, you must practice, and practice the way your instructor shows you. If you follow this advice, your lesson experience will be much more rewarding, and you should see lower scores soon.

My flexibility allows me to tailor lessons to suit your needs.
Video and Computer Swing Analysis:
In all of my golf lessons I use some type of video or
computer analysis. It is such a powerful learning
tool for the student because it allows them to see
what I see. One thing is true in golf, feelings
and reality are two separate things. What I mean by
this statement is, what we feel is not always what we
are doing in the golf swing. So if we can not see
what we look like, it is very difficult to change the
motion.

V1 Digital: V1 digital is the leading software for
golf instructors and it is what I have chosen to use as
a teaching tool. It allows me to view the swing in slow
motion, frame-by-frame, and perform side-by-side
comparison. I will typically save my students first lesson
video so that progress may be evaluated over a period
of lessons. In using video since 1992, I have found
its value immeasurable.

iClub: The iClub is new technology that I saw for the
first time at last years annual PGA Merchandise Show.
I was very impressed with its capabilities and have
incorporated it in my lessons. The iClub is different than
video in that it captures only the motion of the club, and
can be used for putting and full swing. Once the swing
is captured you can to view it from six angles. It also
records tempo, club head speed, face angle, and path.
iClub will provide you stats of every swing captured and
also provide a summary that measures consistency.
The iClub could be the most powerful putting tool that
I have used.
Using these two great forms of technology, the motion of
your body and club is analyzed. We will use this
information to create a plan of action to get you on the road
to better golf.
